Residence Hall Network

Residence Hall Network
There are two network outlets in each residence hall room and wireless access points throughout many areas of campus. Students will be permitted to connect their personal computers to the campus-wide network. This will provide student access to resources as they are developed and made available on the campus network, and provide access to the Internet for email and the World Wide Web. Students wishing to connect to the campus-wide network must comply with some basic requirements. These requirements are for the purpose of insuring the security, integrity and reasonable availability of the network and Internet to all members of the campus community.

The image below shows the Internet utilization over the past 36 hours.
This graph is automatically updated every 5 minutes.

150 Mbps of Internet bandwidth is available for the University.  Intrastate traffic to other schools participating in the OARnet network is not subject to this limit.

Bandwidth Graph

The X axis on the graph is a 24 hour scale. The right side shows the current time, and the graph will grow to the left.  The Y axis shows the bandwidth used, in Megabits.

The Green represents incoming traffic to UF's network, and the blue line shows outgoing traffic.
