Blackboard: Basics
We can help you understand the benefits of the Blackboard System and teach you how to access information about classes and your grades.

Blackboard: Content System
Learn about the useful tool in Blackboard called the Content System.  This tool will allow you to save, store, and access files from anywhere you can access Blackboard.

Customizing the Blackboard Site for you:
Learn how to customize your Blackboard site.

Blackboard: ePortfolio:

Linked with the content system, e-Portfolios will give you a way to show off the work you have done electronically possibly to future employers.

Blackboard: SafeAssign
A new tool for UF faculty and students, SafeAssign checks papers using an online database.  Come to this workshop to learn how this will affect you as a student

Student Online Classes in Blackboard:
Do or will you have an online class and you're really not sure how to login? In this workshop we will explain everything that you need to know to start up your online class.

Atomic Learning:
Want to learn something new or refresh yourself of how to use software? Join us as we cover how to access Atomic Learning (AL), and the best ways you can learn from it.

Online Classes using Elluminate:
Elluminate is an online class tool that has been implemented into Blackboard.  To learn how to log-in and see how a class using Elluminate is run, come to this workshop.

Using SPSS thru CITRIX:
Are you using SPSS in one of your classes? Learn how to access SPSS from any computer on campus with Internet access using CITRIX. This workshop will also include saving and printing your work.

MyFindlay Portal System:
Learn about the new portal system that The University of Findlay has to offer and the tools that go along with it.

UF Email:
Learn how to manage and customize the Email account given to students at The University of Findlay. You can learn about email forwarding and filtering.

Tips on Buying a Computer:
Do you need a computer for school but are not sure what to look for? Will you be using it for gaming, word processing or extensive multimedia work? Attend this workshop to learn about what you should look for in a computer.



Computer Care:

Cleaning Your Computer:
Dirty computer? Learn how to clean it up inside and out. We will teach you how to clean up your desktop and get rid of files and programs that are no longer in use. 

Be Proactive: Protect your Computer:
Protect your computer before something goes wrong. Come to this workshop and we will teach you how to use software such as Spybot Search and Destroy, Windows Defender, Ad-aware, and Symantec Anti-virus.

Internet Security: How to Browse Safely and Securely:
The Internet can be a dangerous place for you computer and your identity. Come to this workshop to learn about how to safely buy, bank, and browse the internet; in addition, discover steps that can be taken to avoid the dangers of fraud, identity theft and viruses.

PowerPoint Do's and Don'ts:
We will discuss the basic elements of a professional presentation and give pointers on how to give your presentation a little extra.

iTunes: Music, Movies, TV Shows, & Podcasts:

You’ll get an idea of how to use Apple’s free mp3 application, iTunes, and some of its functions such as Podcasts.

Tips to use a Digital Camera:
This course will offer student the ability to learn about the basic aspects of Digital Photography and tips of how to capture great photos.

Storyboarding:
Have you eer had a presentation or video that went longer than you expected or took longer than it should have to make?  Discover the importance of storyboarding and how to utilize it to keep this from happening to you.  Learn these techniques before starting your multimedia project.

Buying a Cell Phone:
Learn about what networks and what phones are available.  Buy a cell phone that will work best for you.

Free Useful Software:

Learn about software that both helpful and fun for students. The best part about it is that it is all free.

Show Off Your Presentation:
Giving presentations in your class? Bring in your presentation for a test run; we will give you feedback from a viewer's perspective. 

Microsoft Office 2007 Series:
This is a cluster of workshops.  In each of these workshops there will be a different Office software addressed.  The office software we will be addressing includes: Excel, Word, and PowerPoint (see the PowerPoint Dos and Don'ts workshop).

Movie Creation and Editing:
This workshop will focus on how to create and edit a movie using iMovie.
