What is a Student Coach?

Student Coaches have a variety of professional responsibilities and duties, which include answering and directing the TLTC calls, greeting individuals entering the TLTC, and assisting faculty and staff. The student coaches are trained when they are first hired to provide one-on-one counseling to faculty/staff in a professional manner that does not intimidate the novice technology user. In addition, they work closely with ATS staff on various projects, including: Academic Program Partnerships (APP), Individual Professional Partnerships (IPP), Blackboard support, video editing, creating workshop materials, and researching new technology.

Recently, Student Coaches have been asked to extend their services to university students, in addition to continuing their support to faculty and staff. A Student Technology Center (STC) has been established, and the Student Coaches have assumed the main responsibilities of maintaining the center. The STC provides peer-to-peer mentoring, a wide range of student-focused workshops, and access to technology equipment including scanners, a video camera, a Mac mini, and audio recording equipment.

The Student Coaches are an integral and indispensable component of ATS. They not only assist in the important area of faculty training and development, but the program has also provided personal, academic and professional enrichment opportunities for these talented, enthusiastic and capable students.

Who are the Student Coaches?
Audra Dundore Audra Dundore is from Defiance, Ohio, and has been a Student Coach since the Spring of 2006. She is currently a senior, dual-majoring in Religious Studies and Multi-Age Visual Arts Education and has plans of graduating during the 2010-2011 school year. She enjoys being part of Aristos Elecktos, MortarBoard National Honor Society, Student Oilers Club, Fellowship of Christian Athletes and Thursday Night Live. In her spare time, she loves watching Duke Basketball, spending time with friends and family, playing sports, cooking and baking Between the TLTC and the STC, Audra's concentrations include: v4 Flash banners, v4 Manual Wiki, STC advertisement, Elluminate pilot, IPP/APP database entry, Apple Movie Creation, Blackboard ePortfolio, Online Gadgets, Google Tools, Internet Research Tools, and How to Clean Your Computer workshops.
Charles Koch Charles Koch is a freshman majoring in Computer Science and is in his first year at the STC. He has been working as a Student Coach since the spring 2009 semester. Charles enjoys working with most Adobe programs and is constantly learning about new technologies every day. He is from the Northwest region of Ohio and is a graduate of Columbus Grove High School in 2008. Charles likes to go snow skiing, playing basketball, learning useless facts and visiting with his friends and family. At the STC, Charles’ main focuses are in video editing, movie recording (on either MAC or PC), Microsoft Vista, and STC projects.
Dayna Lessig Dayna Lessig is going to be a senior in Fall 2009, majoring in Computer Science with an emphasis in Webpage and Database design, and is planning to graduate in December 2010. She is from Upper Sandusky, OH and was home schooled until starting college in the fall of 2006. She enjoys learning about new technology and helping others learn more about technology. She enjoys working with Adobe Dreamweaver, having fun with friends and family, and playing softball.
Ryan Rothenbuhler Ryan Rothenbuhler is currently a sophomore majoring in History. He is from Northwest Ohio and graduated from Elmwood High School. Along with working at the TLTC, Ryan is a member of the UF baseball team. Ryan enjoys hunting, fishing, going to the beach, and hanging out with his friends and family. At the TLTC, Ryan specializes in Tegrity recordings, working with v4, VHS to DVD conversion, iMovie & iDVD, and Microsoft Vista.
Stephanie Smith Stephanie Smith is a graduate student working on her master's in Athletic Training. She graduated from The University of Findlay in May 2008 with a Bachelor's in Science. She has been working at ATS since September 2006. Recently Stephanie became a Teaching Assistant working especially in the STC. At the TLTC, Stephanie enjoys working with the many database programs and learning about new technology. She is from Evanston Illinois, and graduated from Evanston Township High School. She enjoys working with the athletic trainers on campus, helping them with the collegiate sports teams. She also enjoys horseback riding as a Hunter/Jumper and showed extensively during high school. Areas Steph assists in include: Workshop schedule, v4 editing, Microsoft Vista, hardware installation, educational VHS to DVD conversion, and STC workshops.
