Faculty Senate and Graduate Council Forms for Curriculum Proposals
The Faculty Senate/Graduate Council Curriculum Committee Course Update Form provides guidelines which should be used in preparing a comprehensive proposal for undergraduate- or graduate-level course updates at The University of Findlay. The extensiveness of the proposal should be commensurate with the size and extent of the new information and its effect and demand on The University of Findlay resources.

The Faculty Senate/Graduate Council Curriculum Committee Program Update Form provides guidelines which should be used in preparing a comprehensive proposal for undergraduate- or graduate-level program updates at The University of Findlay. The extensiveness of the proposal should be commensurate with the size and extent of the new information and its effect and demand on The Univeristy of Findlay resources.

Prior to a proposal being submitted to the Faculty Senate Curriculum Committee (FSCC) or Graduate Council Curriculum Committee (GCCC) for its review and recommendation to Faculty Senate or Graduate Council, the proposal for a course and/or program update should be approved by the academic college from which the program/course will be housed, and also any academic college upon which the proposal has a direct impact. Verification of this review should be supported by the completion of a Curriculum Review Memorandum from each affected college.

All proposals being submitted to the FSCC or GCCC must include the appropriate proposal form (course or program update) and the proposal in the approved Faculty Senate and Graduate Council format. The syllabus attached to the proposal for a new course MUST use the syllabus template.

The FSCC and GCCC asks that all additions to the new course catalog copy (if relevant and provided) be bolded and deletions to the old course catalog copy (if relevant and provided) be indicated with a strikethrough. For extensive changes, sponsors may also choose to include a summation of “net changes” to accompany these visual indications of the changes. Current catalog copy should be verified with Sara Hingson.

Additional documents that may be needed depending on the proposal include the Evidence of Needs Assessement and Budget Memorandum and Evidence of Student Matriculation Support Memorandum.

See the Faculty Senate Curriculum Committee Web page or the Graduate Council Blackboard page for additional information.
