About Us

Stephanie Heather
P:6, University of Findlay College of Pharmacy
Hometown: Cincinnati, Ohio

Stephanie got her first introduction to Pharmacy while attending Colerain High School, when her family physician suggested she look into pharmacy. She took the suggestion and went with it. Now she says she is hooked! While looking for Pharmacy schools she came upon Findlay, and loved the small town feel; throughout the campus, employees were friendly and willing to go the extra mile to help out. After going to a school where the teachers had no idea who she was, she liked the idea of every teacher knowing her by name. Stephanie says, "The University of Findlay really cared about my success in becoming a pharmacist."
Stephanie is scheduled to be in the first graduating class of The University of Findlay College of Pharmacy, graduating in the Spring of 2010. It has been a long road, and Stephanie says that, "UF Faculty are ALWAYS willing to help you further understand a concept. Many of the teachers come in early and leave late. It makes it a little easier spending your weekend at school preparing for a test when Saturday morning you see the faculty there as well." Her favorite subject while in the College of Pharmacy has been pharmacokinetics. She has given credit to Dr. Earle for "being an amazing teacher, and relating purpose to calculations." Stephanie says she now uses fundementals of kinetics on a daily basis.
One of Stephanie's goals is to be a a retail pharmacist and one day be a Pharmacy Manager. She has worked at Walgreens since 2004,

giving her a great appreciation of the job of a retail pharmacist. Additionally, she did a rotation at Mercy Hospital (Fairfield Campus). Throughout all of this, she has received constant support and love from her wonderful family and friends. She says during her late nights, they were there "to tell her everything would work out."
Upon graduation, Stephanie Heather plans on staying in Cincinnati. She says she loves the world of retail pharmacy. She enjoys the interaction with people and the knowledge that her efforts can have a positive impact on a person's life. Dr. Melithil comments, "She brings a lot to the table." For someone who would like to follow in Stephanie's footsteps and become a future pharmacist, she says "Study! Put in the extra time, even when you don't want to. You never know, that little tid-bit of information you learned may save someone's life someday."
