The mission of the Department of Pharmacy Practice is to support the College’s mission through teaching, practice, service, research, and high quality professional development.We value innovation in teaching methods and practical learning experiences, individual and intellectual curiosity, life-long learning, professional leadership and personal qualities of honesty, integrity and respect. We believe that continual exposure of our students to a variety of patient care settings and practice-based research complements classroom learning and provides the optimal learning experience.Our goal is to produce Doctor of Pharmacy graduate practitioners who will fill local, state and national leadership roles in patient care as a direct result of their quality experience in our program. (Approved by the Department of Pharmacy Practice, July 2011) The Department of Pharmacy Practice consists of 14 on-campus faculty members, 4 residents, 25 clinical faculty members, and over 400 affiliate preceptors in a variety of pharmacy environments. Our faculty have expertise in specialized areas of pharmacy practice, including ambulatory care, cardiology, drug information, infectious disease, neurology & psychiatry, pharmacokinetics and pharmacy administration to name but a few!
