Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences
The Department consists of 7 faculty members with diverse backgrounds. Areas of expertise include such traditional disciplines as medicinal chemistry, pharmacology, therapeutics, molecular biology, pharmaceutics, pharmacokinetics and pharmacy administration. In addition, three of the Sciences faculty are registered pharmacists and one is a physician. Department faculty teach courses in pharmaceutics and pharmacokinetics, and share teaching responsibilities with faculty in the Pharmacy Practice Department in the integrated curriculum, which combines medicinal chemistry, pathophyisiology, pharmacology, therapeutics and pharmacokinetics. Faculty members in this department are also engaged in research/scholarship in the areas of molecular biology, nanotechnology, pharmacokinetics, patent law and drug regulation.
