The health studies major at The University of Findlay is a broad degree that gives you a wide range of skills that enhance your employability. Our program will equip you with subject-specific skills, and the ability to look at health from an international, national, cultural or social perspective.

Health studies is a unique option if you are interested in a four-year degree in health care but do not wish to pursue one of our professional programs offered in the College of Health Professions. With this major, you can choose different emphases including:
  • Gerontology
  • Health professions
  • Health care management
  • Physical education
  • Personal training
  • Psychology

With our undergraduate health studies major, you will have the opportunity to prepare for a graduate-level health care career. You will be considered for enrollment into programs such as athletic training or physician assistant. This major will give you fundamental knowledge about the health professions field and introduce you to the basic principles of patient care.

Students with degrees in health studies may move forward to graduate study or begin careers in:

  • Hospitals
  • Health information management
  • Nursing facilities
  • Community service agencies
  • Public health facilities
  • Therapeutic recreation centers
  • Health clubs
  • Spas

Positions may range from entry-level hospital administration roles to service programming for a community agency for the elderly.
